Refuge Ministries Canada ministers across Canada and Internationally equipping churches to do prison ministry in their community; while providing them with all the necessary resources to do this effectively.

This is done in a 1 hour prison ministry training seminar at your church! Training Topics include the following:

1)The Biblical Mandate for Prison Ministry.
2)Preparation for Prison Ministry.
3)Starting A Prison Ministry.
4)1-1 Visitation.
5)Conducting Group Meetings.
6)After-Care and Discipleship.
7)Institutional/Inmate Typology.
8)Do's and Dont's of Prison Ministry.
9)Relating to those in Custody.

This training should be taken by the Church (Board Member who will oversee the
Ministry), and the individual(s) whom God has called to prison ministry in their
community. This would be someone with the desire to be better equipped for the
area of Prison Ministry that they want to be involved in (i.e.1-1 Visitation, Chapel Services, After-Care and Discipleship etc.)

A Qualified Instructor will lead a 1-hour Seminar with Handouts provided to
facilitate and assist the individual taking the training.
Once trained the Individual will understand the Biblical Mandate regarding
Prison Ministry; How to Prepare for the Ministry; Develop the Ministry; and
Sustain the Ministry.

As the Local Church we have a Biblical Mandate to be involved in prison
ministry as found in Matthew 25:36: "I was in prison and you visited me."
